A respected academic, researcher, and author, Dr. Morrie Craig possesses more than four decades of experience as a professor and lab director for an established university veterinary toxicology program. During his tenure, Dr. Morrie Craig investigated the role of microorganisms in degrading soil toxins often absorbed by grasses and other plant species. His work has progressed the development of toxin removal techniques that can be applied to protecting animals such as deer, goats, and even camels.

In addition to this position, Dr. Morrie Craig served as the head of the drug testing unit for the Iditarod Dog Sled Race for 25 years. He played a key role in revising the race’s drug testing regulations and developed industry-standard testing criteria informed by his expertise and clinical knowledge of greyhound medications. As a result of his accomplishments and contributions to the greyhound racing field, he earned a place in the Greyhound Hall of Fame in 2010.
